Happy Halloweenie!

Wishing you a frightfully exciting Halloween. May you enjoy all the Kit-Kat's and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups you can swindle from your children or, in my case, from your own serving dish. Please tell me I'm not the only one who eats from their own candy dish (having saved their favorites of course). Next year, I'm only buying candy I dislike. Like Tootsie Rolls.
The good news is that I'm totally prepared for tonight's trick-or-treaters-- The good and the bad. Yes, I've got a few tricks up my sleeve for those who don't say thank you, or bother to wear a costume. After years of handing out candy I think I finally qualify as a Halloween handout expert. Gone are the days when I watched in horror as little ruffians scooped oversized handfuls of premium candy from my basket without so much as a “Boo,” for good measure. These days, I call the shots.

Last Year's Halloween Party

Saturday night Halloween party at the Bell's home was so much fun. Elvis Presley dropped in and surprised everyone by singing for us throughout the party night. Believe it or not I did not take many pictures of the party. I had such a great time from the moment it started till it ended. I was so involved with dancing, drinking and wonderful conversations I didn't even bother to pick up my camera and take pictures. Sorry folks. But do enjoy the few that I posted here.

George & Mary Bell

The guy was dressed as  "One Night Stand" there were condoms, lubricant & Kleenex on the table

Bill you Rock!

Rudy got me hooked on " The O'Reilly Factor " When I found out that Bill O'Reilly was going to be on the show, I had to watch!
Someone gave The View (or is it the One View?) gals a little of their own medicine! Thanks Bill!
Bill is a refreshing, articulate man, and I am so happy to see him handle himself with humor and dignity with the idiot Joy. Watching Joy twitch & fluff her hairs at his remarks is priceless. Joy is just another liberal who is clueless about government.
  • Walters needs to be retired, her edge is long gone. Joy? washed up comic who seems sour about life, the other two need to move on to something better while they still have a chance…as for whoopie goldberg, her producers on the view need to put a muzzle on her, that barking she does is really ugly.
  • Joy- Stop interviewing Republican; you look like an idiot!!
  • Oh and by the way, Bill O’Reilly has just signed a deal to renew his contract with Fox News Channel reportedly for four years and worth $10 million to $12 million a year.

Getting Ready For The Halloween Party!

This years Annual Pirate Theme Halloween Party will be held at the Bells Home. I had so much fun with my Mary Bell preparing for the Big event and taking lot's of pictures. There were Pirates everywhere I turned. There's  so much to do it overwhelmed us, We worked and took many breaks to chat and laughed  at Tinker Bell, Mary Bell's dog as she chased spider webs around and barked at the pirates.
This is our last years Pirate map I made for our life group (Bible
Study) Halloween carnival booth. We won first place
.

Making bow

Hair Bow Tutorial Start out by tying a knot in one end of the ribbon. Trim the other end so that the knot is in the middle. Next, thread a needle and have it sitting handy. Any color thread will do as it will be covered by ribbon when we're finished. Now, grab your ribbon and make a loop to one side:Now a loop to the other side: ... and repeat for desired number of loops. Mine are three on each side: Here is where you need the needle. Poke it through all the layers of the ribbon in the middle somewhere and then you can sort of maneuver the loops around to lay the way you would like them to. Stitch a little "x" in the middle to hold the loops where you want them. Now, wrap the thread around the middle and pull a little to cinch the middle in so it looks tied at the end. Secure the end by stitching through some of the ribbon and knotting the end. Put a drop of hot glue in the center of the bow. Place a clip in the glue, but hold the clip open and fold one end of the knotted piece around into the glue. The knot should be in the center of the other side of the bow - see finished bow above. Repeat by placing a drop of hot glue on the end of ribbon and folding over the other end. Let it dry before closing the clip so it doesn't glue shut! The only other thing to do is to melt the ends of the ribbon so they won't fray. Grace taught me this fabulous trick as well. And, really you can do it whenever in the process works for you. You obviously don't want to catch the entire bow on fire! For grosgrain ribbons, just hold the cut end near a flame and you will see the edge melt a little! Note: these small clips were purchased at Sally's Beauty Supply. They are about $2.00 for 12 clips.

Chatting with the Triplets

Many of you know What a nut I am with my video camera if I could mount it on top of my forehead I would for the sake of a great video moment. With Triplets in the car it was always a great opportunity to capture some of the best conversations with them. You just never know what comes out of the mouths of babes. On our way home from the beach I was chatting with the triplets about boyfriend/girlfriend stuff just to see who they liked at that moment and this is what I got. ( Jon was at the wheel this time so I was able to turn my body around to video the sweet tike's)

Goodbye Beloved Tree

A few weeks ago this is what we woke up to. Our big beautiful Tree broke in half. I remember the first day the city planted this tree. When we called the city to let them know our tree fell they came immediately and cut it down to it's roots. I don't know who was more sadden by the sight of our beloved tree Jon or I. I blame the city's budget cuts for not having enough tree trimmers to cut our city trees. It had gotten so big and heavy the poor tree could not support it's weight...

My JonJon

Thanks Jon for allowing me to post your video so that I can share with the world how awesome you are. You Rock Son!!!

Last month Jon and his band NEXTDOOR went to a Recording Studio in LA to do some Rough Tracks which means: (A demo version of a songs that is used for reference rather than for release. A demo is a way for musicians to approximate their ideas on tape and provide an example of those ideas to record labels, producers or other artists. Musicians often use demos as quick sketches to share with bandmates in hopes of having the song professionally recorded) This new CD will hopefully come out sometime in December.

What can I say about my son Jon who has so many talents. Jon is also a great Photographer check out his Flickr site Click Here I am so full of pride for both my boys they are such good well behaved young men and Mama loves them so much. Um and so does Dad. Ha
